Erling N. Rolfsrud photograph collection [graphic]. [1880s-1960s]

The images in this collection were collected by Rolfsrud as part of his historical writing and publishing of books related to North Dakota topics and people. There are quite a number of portraits of people featured in his biographical books, with some of Native Americans. The geographic images are organized by town or physical feature. In addition, there are images of agricultural and homesteading scenes, aviators Carl Ben Eielson and Thomas McGoey, Marquis de Mores, a Mobile Hearing and Speech Clinic in N.D., the Paul Broste Rock Museum at Parshall, transportation, snapshots from his native county, McKenzie County, and snapshot from his book Red River Land.

Born at Watford City, N.D., son of Nils and Rebecca (Heide) Rolfsrud. Attended Minot State College, taught in rural schools, graduated from Concordia College in 1936. Wed Beverly Brown in 1941. Employed at North Dakota Education Association, and wrote a column "Top Drawer" for its Journal, North Dakota Teacher. Began teaching at Concordia College, leaving in 1946.
